REAS-Pembs - Renewable Energy Advice Service Pembs. January 2008
We are pleased to announce that we have raised sufficient funds to support a new post, here at the ECO Centre. The Renewable Energy Technical Advisor is funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Sustainable Development Fund.
The project is funded for 12 months and will provide high quality impartial advice to householders and community groups. It will also offer limited site visits within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Beyond this we aim to have secured additional funding to maintain and expand the service. Matthew Leese started work with the ECO Centre in September 2007.
The service will be available via our free advice line 0800 512012, via email, or face to face in our visitor centre or at any of our outreach events.
The ECO Centre has a twenty seven year history of working with renewable energy technologies. The promotion of the technologies and the promotion of their consideration has always been a key plank of the objectives here. We are delighted that we can now continue this.
Here are the reports of a couple of projects that we have run in the past. We do hope that we can re-establish this level of creativity and development over the next couple of years.
Vegoil Motoring Jan - Mar 2006- a new project to assist engine conversions to run on Vegetable Oil. Environmentally conscious motorists can now take advantage of a grant to help them convert their vehicles to run on vegetable oil. Thanks to funding from the Sustainable Development Fund, run by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the West Wales ECO Centre and Veg Oil Motoring - run by Dan Blackburn - are offering a 50% grant to eligible applicants to the grant scheme. Terms and conditions do apply and these will spelled out on the application form.
Energy For Tomorrow - 2003 - 2006 is a significant scheme to help communities develop their own commercial installation.
