Eco Centre Wales Education Programme

If you're a student or teacher looking for education resources please visit www.climatechangewales.org.uk

Education is a key plank of Eco Centre Wales' activities.  We aim to support the formal education sector and the broader public looking at energy issues.

We think this is important because:

  • Energy is central to development in Wales and internationally.
  • It empowers citizens to make informed choices and decisions about their own energy use.
  • To enables citizens to participate in the broader debate about energy and take part in decision making for their community.
  • The threats of climate change and finite fossil fuel resoures will impact on us all.

What Do We do?

We undertake a number of distinct activities to meet our broad objectives

  • We run workshops for schools and colleges accross the whole age range.
  • We develop innovative resources like www.climatechangewales.org.uk
  • We work with organisations to create resources, workshops, and displays on energy relevant to their context.
  • We provide training for educators in different settings.
  • We orgainise talks and workshops for community groups.
  • We staff the Visitor Centre which is in the converted caretakers house at our Newport offices.  The public can drop in for free and impartial advice on all aspects of domestic energy.  Technical staff are also on hand for complex enquiries.
