Support is available in every local authority area in Wales to develop an Affordable Warmth Action Plan over the coming year. Each Action Plan will be developed using a community led approach, with all interested organisations invited to attend two action plan development workshops. This approach will bring together those working towards improving quality of life and reducing social injustice.
If your organisation represents or connects with vulnerable members of the community who may suffer from fuel poverty, we would value your input in ensuring that their needs and best interests are met in the Affordable Warmth Action Plan. By coming along to the workshops you can make sure Action Points are included to ensure the group you represent has access to affordable warmth, and also find out more about routes to affordable warmth and the funding available to help people keep their homes warm and healthy.
We are also looking for elected members or senior council staff to become involved in the affordable warmth process and publicise the action plan amongst colleagues and peers. Any elected members who wish to become involved and find out how they can ensure affordable warmth for householders in their ward are invited to join their local steering group.
Please contact Kerry Lewis on 01239 821901 or kerry@ecocentre.org.uk if you would like to be involved or attend the workshops in your area.
