Welcome to the ninth West Wales ECO Centre Newsletter.

The last one we sent was August last year. So this time we will bring you up to date on some of our developments as well as tell you about new ones.

Main content in this edition is:

1. Jobs with the ECO Centre
2. Climate Change Wales
3. No Nuclear - new editorial
4. Low Energy Lightbulb offer

1. We are currently recruiting a new post based in our North Wales office in Mold. The Local Energy Support Programme (LESP) is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the Energy Saving Trust. it aims to increase the amount of activity undertaken by local authorities and housing associations to mitigate the causes of climate change through energy use.

Details of the North Wales LESP post can be found at:

www.ecocentre.org.uk/jobs

2. Our ambitious education project Climate Change Wales is about to launch the first phase of its dedicated website. This project looks at the causes and impacts of climate change in Wales and is aimed at primary and secondary school age groups. The site is divided into content areas aimed at each key stage and has a dedicated teachers' area. Keep a look out at www.climatechangewales.org.uk and its welsh equivalent towards the middle of May 2007.

3. Founder of the West Wales ECO Centre, environmental campaigner and international author Dr. Brian John has provided the front page editorial. A long time anti-nuclear campaigner, Brian states why a move to a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK is not going to help us reduce a carbon dioxide emissions. Read his article here:

4.Frustrated at the lack of useful designs for low energy lighting? It's one of the most common complaints we get. But there has been much progress in design and technology of low energy lamps since the days of the massive compact flourescents.  The ECO Centre has teamed up with Efficient Light Ltd to provide you with a 10% discount on any of their products. There are bulbs for most circumstances, so a browse through their online shop should help you choose the right one for your need. Instructions on how to claim your discount can be found at:

That's it for now, until the next time.

Thanks for your continued support.

The West Wales ECO Centre team.
